Why don't you show prices on the website?

Magnet pricing moves with rare earth raw material markets, grade, coating, tolerance and quantity. Rather than post a number that is wrong by the time you read it, we quote your exact part and quantity — usually within one business day, often the same day.

How do I get a quote?

Add the magnets you need to your quote list, set quantities, and submit the request. If you need a custom part, describe the dimensions, grade and application in the form. You will receive a written quote with lead time and freight.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Accepted Answer

No hard minimum on stocked items — we ship single pieces to engineers prototyping and pallets to OEMs in production. Custom-tooled parts carry a minimum that depends on geometry.

How fast do orders ship?

Stocked items ordered before 2:00pm ET ship the same business day from our US warehouse. Custom and made-to-order parts typically run 3–6 weeks depending on grade availability and tooling.

Can you make a size that isn't listed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Custom sizes, grades, coatings, multi-pole magnetization, chamfers, countersinks and assemblies are our core business. Send a drawing or describe the envelope and target field and we will engineer to it.

What is the difference between neodymium and samarium cobalt?

Accepted Answer

Neodymium (NdFeB) gives the highest energy product per dollar and per volume, but loses coercivity as it heats. Samarium cobalt gives roughly 70–80% of neodymium's strength while staying stable to 300–350°C, and resists corrosion without plating. If your part runs hot or wet, samarium cobalt usually wins.

What do neodymium grades like N42, N45SH and N52 mean?

The number is the maximum energy product in MGOe — higher means stronger for the same volume. The letters describe intrinsic coercivity, meaning heat tolerance: no suffix ≈ 176°F / 80°C, M ≈ 212°F / 100°C, H ≈ 248°F / 120°C, SH ≈ 302°F / 150°C, UH ≈ 356°F / 180°C, EH ≈ 392°F / 200°C. N52 is the strongest, N45SH is the practical choice when strength and heat both matter.

What about ceramic (ferrite) magnets?

Ceramic Grade 8 is far weaker than rare earth, but it is inexpensive, inherently corrosion resistant and stable to about 480°F / 249°C. It is the right answer for high-volume, cost-driven holding and separation work.

How do I choose an operating temperature rating?

Accepted Answer

Rate for the hottest steady-state temperature the magnet sees in the assembly, not ambient — then add margin for the working point of your circuit. A thin magnet in a low-permeance circuit demagnetizes at a lower temperature than a thick one in a closed loop. Tell us the geometry and we will check the working point.

What coatings are available?

Nickel-copper-nickel is the default on neodymium. We also supply epoxy, nickel plus epoxy, zinc, gold, parylene, and PTFE, plus uncoated samarium cobalt and ceramic which do not require plating.

Can you supply pull force data?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we publish or calculate pull force against a thick mild steel plate, and can model the field at a working gap for your circuit. Real-world pull depends on target thickness, surface finish, coating thickness and alignment.

Do you provide material certifications?

Certificates of conformance, demagnetization curves, RoHS/REACH declarations and country-of-origin documentation are available on request. Ask when you request your quote so it ships with the order.

How should strong magnets be handled?

Accepted Answer

Rare earth magnets can pinch fingers, shatter on impact and erase magnetic media. Keep them apart with spacers, wear eye protection when handling large blocks, keep them clear of pacemakers, credit cards and hard drives, and never let two large magnets slam together.

How are magnets shipped?

Accepted Answer

Magnets are shielded and packaged to meet IATA and DOT field-strength limits for air and ground freight. Large assemblies ship in steel-keepered packaging so the external field stays inside spec.
